As we have been reporting, there are a number of challenges which employers, especially small employers, will face in 2016.
The first challenge will be the introduction of the living wage. As reported by the CIPD, the Living Wage will be introduced in April 2016 at £7.20 per hour, which is 50p per hour more than the current NMW. Businesses will need to budget for this, and potentially change terms and conditions of employment.
If you, as an employer, are concerned about whether you can afford to pay this rate for your current contracted hours, contact us for advice and support.
